Job description
The Senior Manager â Corporate Development & Investment Management at Omantel plays a pivotal role in overseeing the companyâs portfolio of strategic investments, mergers, and acquisitions. The position focuses on instituting best-in-class portfolio management practices, ensuring post-merger integration success, and driving performance enhancement initiatives across portfolio companies. This role operates at the intersection of strategy and finance, requiring deep expertise in corporate development, investment analysis, and governance. The incumbent will work closely with senior management, portfolio company boards, and cross-functional teams to monitor performance, optimize value creation, and align investment outcomes with Omantelâs strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities
- Contribute to defining Omantelâs corporate development and M&A strategy, ensuring alignment with broader strategic objectives
- Oversee post-merger integration planning and execution, ensuring smooth operational and financial alignment of newly acquired entities
- Develop and manage policies, processes, and frameworks for portfolio monitoring and performance benchmarking against budgets, KPIs, and acquisition cases
- Track financial, operational, and strategic performance of portfolio companies and flag material deviations in a timely manner
- Advise on governance structures, ensuring proper board charters, policies, and procedures are implemented across portfolio companies
- Participate in portfolio company board meetings and provide strategic recommendations to enhance value creation
- Collaborate with portfolio company management to prepare annual budgets, long-term business plans, and capital structure strategies
- Support capital raising and funding initiatives in coordination with Omantelâs Treasury department
- Conduct periodic strategic reviews of portfolio companies to assess performance and identify optimization opportunities
- Prepare and deliver detailed performance reports and presentations to Omantelâs senior management, Board of Directors, and committees
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between Omantelâs strategic, financial, and operational teams to ensure cohesive portfolio oversight
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration (Masterâs preferred)
- 8â10 years of experience in investment management, corporate development, or strategy, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity
- Strong knowledge of M&A processes, post-merger integration, and portfolio performance management
- Demonstrated experience managing and evaluating investment portfolios in complex corporate environments
- Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
- Understanding of corporate governance frameworks and board-level reporting standards
- Experience in capital structure management and strategic investment planning
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to synthesize complex financial and strategic data into actionable insights
- Experience in the telecommunications or technology sectors preferred
