Job description
The Senior KYC Analyst at RAKBANK is responsible for performing comprehensive due diligence during client onboarding, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. The role involves conducting Know Your Customer (KYC) and background verification checks, assessing client risk levels, managing AML alerts, and supporting internal audits. The position requires strong attention to detail, analytical capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Credit, Governance, and HR teams to ensure efficient and compliant onboarding processes.

Key responsibilities
- Review and process client onboarding files, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with bank and regulatory standards
- Conduct KYC and background verification (BVR) checks to confirm client legitimacy and risk acceptability
- Perform client risk assessments and escalate medium- to high-risk cases for additional approval
- Investigate and clear false positives from AML and sanctions screening alerts
- Conduct system checks and participate in KYC remediation activities
- Identify and report fraudulent documentation or suspicious behavior during onboarding
- Ensure compliance with RAKBANK’s policies, Central Bank regulations, and audit standards
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested data and documentation
- Track and report key metrics through internal activity logs and monthly performance dashboards
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure timely approvals and issue resolution
- Prepare staff performance scorecards measuring productivity, quality, and conduct
- Contribute to process enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives to improve turnaround times
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in KYC, client onboarding, compliance, or governance roles within the banking sector
- University degree in Business, Finance, Law, or related field
- Strong understanding of banking operations, AML/KYC regulations, and risk management frameworks
- Experience with AML screening tools and client due diligence systems
- Ability to identify, assess, and escalate client-related risks accurately
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and compliance standards
