Job description
The Senior Design Manager - Architecture is responsible for overseeing all phases of architectural and interior design development across multiple projects. The role involves planning and leading design activities, reviewing technical documentation, managing program schedules, and ensuring coordination between architectural, engineering, and construction teams. A critical part of the role is to ensure that designs meet client expectations, regulatory compliance, and functional performance standards, while maintaining quality and efficiency throughout the design process.

Key responsibilities
- Plan, organize and direct design activities across multiple projects
- Lead architectural and interior design deliverables, technical reviews, and documentation
- Manage risk and change registers to control project scope and timelines
- Provide architects and engineers with direction regarding design standards and objectives
- Implement a design review process to ensure alignment with goals and budget
- Procure consultants, prepare RFPs, and evaluate technical proposals
- Coordinate construction mockups and on-site reviews with the construction team
- Develop in-house design test fits and studies for architecture, interiors, and landscaping
- Track and mediate delays in project programs and maintain scheduling control
- Maintain submittal records and correspondence for architectural and design consultants
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships and integrated team coordination
- Align with Executive Director - Design and internal departments on architectural aspects
- Coordinate consultant designs with internal engineering teams
- Perform any additional design duties as assigned by the line manager
Experience & skills
- Degree in Architecture
- 10 ā 15 years of experience in space planning and design management
- Experience managing projects through all design and construction phases
- Expertise in UAE building regulations and QA/QC documentation
- Experience with leading real estate developers in UAE
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit or equivalent, and MS Office
- Demonstrated ability to solve technical and aesthetic design issues effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills
