Job description
The Assistant Manager, Ossiano plays a key leadership role within one of Dubaiās most prestigious fine dining destinations, located at Atlantis, The Palm. This position supports the Restaurant General Manager in overseeing the daily operations, service excellence, and financial performance of the restaurant, ensuring that every guest experience reflects the highest standards of luxury hospitality. The Assistant Manager is responsible for supervising and developing a diverse team, coordinating staff schedules, maintaining compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures, and driving operational efficiency. Working within a world-renowned culinary environment, the role requires a hands-on leader who can balance service excellence with cost control, employee engagement, and revenue optimization. The Assistant Manager ensures smooth service delivery during all meal periods, proactively resolves guest concerns, and maintains a strong presence on the restaurant floor. This role also contributes to minimizing operational costs, maximizing profitability, and enhancing guest loyalty through exceptional service standards. - Assist the Restaurant General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service flow and operational excellence.
- Supervise, train, and mentor team members to uphold luxury service standards and deliver memorable guest experiences.
- Coordinate employee schedules in line with business volumes, ensuring optimal staffing levels and operational efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, health and safety standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor restaurant performance indicators, including revenue, guest satisfaction scores, and cost control measures, and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Lead by example on the restaurant floor, maintaining a visible presence and actively engaging with guests to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
- Handle guest complaints and service recovery situations professionally and efficiently, ensuring swift resolution and positive outcomes.
- Support inventory management, stock control, and cost optimization initiatives to minimize wastage and maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with culinary and beverage teams to ensure seamless coordination and high-quality product delivery.
- Drive upselling initiatives and promote signature dishes, beverage pairings, and special dining experiences to increase average spend per guest.
- Assist in performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and development planning to support employee retention and career progression.
- Maintain detailed operational reports and communicate performance updates to senior management.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture that reflects the brandās values and service philosophy.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and licensing regulations at all times.
- Support special events, VIP dining experiences, and promotional activities to enhance the restaurantās market positioning.
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 3 to 5 yearsā experience in a similar supervisory or assistant management role within a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of luxury hospitality service standards and fine dining operations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate multicultural teams.
- Hands-on management style with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong financial awareness, including experience supporting cost control and revenue optimization initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and guest engagement skills.
- Proven ability to handle guest complaints and service recovery situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Experience in scheduling, workforce planning, and team performance management.
- High level of customer focus with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
