OQEP's operated assets in Oman span upstream surface facilities both on-plot and off-plot, and this Lead Engineer, Operations Support role provides the technical backbone that keeps them running safely through execution, commissioning, start-up, and steady-state operations. Reporting to the Team Lead, Operation Support, you act as technical authority for operational support across the portfolio, applying engineering principles consistently across assets and teams. Troubleshooting, technical assessments, and hands on problem solving fall to you whenever plant or field operations need attention, alongside technical backup for hardware, process systems, and utilities. Pre-commissioning, commissioning, and readiness activities for projects and brownfield modifications also run through this role, coordinated closely with Operations, Maintenance, Projects, HSE, and Supply Chain. You serve as the focal point for ORA, PSSR, and commissioning governance, owning technical risk evaluation and final readiness recommendations to management. Engineering and operational support teams get led and coordinated during execution and commissioning phases, with compliance to company engineering standards and Omani regulations built into every decision. Capability development, succession planning, and continuous improvement within Operation Support round out the responsibilities. Field work and office based analysis both feature in the role, since assets need attention on-site as much as at a desk.
