Job description
The Senior Consultant for Financial Services â Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) at KPMG will oversee multiple engagements focused on strengthening clientsâ governance frameworks, risk management structures, and internal control systems. The role requires extensive experience in internal audit, ICOFR, enterprise risk management, and corporate governance, particularly within the financial services sector. Acting as a key liaison between engagement teams, partners, and clients, this position demands both technical expertise and leadership capability to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery aligned with regulatory standards and firm methodologies.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Manage and monitor multiple client engagements and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery
- Lead teams in conducting internal audits, internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR), ERM, and corporate governance reviews
- Oversee client engagement procedures, including acceptance, continuance, and internal risk management processes
- Train and mentor teams on regulatory updates and emerging trends within the financial services sector
- Support engagement partners in business development, including proposal preparation and client meetings
- Contribute to service innovation by driving digital transformation and standardization of workpapers and methodologies
- Implement KPMGâs risk management and quality assurance policies across advisory engagements
- Assist in introducing and implementing new service lines, methodologies, and advisory tools
- Conduct internal audit quality assurance reviews and develop process improvement recommendations
- Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on governance, risk, and compliance matters
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Accountancy, Internal Auditing, Management Accounting, or equivalent discipline
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CA, ACCA, CISA, CFE, CRMA, BCM, or CCGP are required or preferred
- 6â7 years of relevant experience in internal audit, risk management, ICOFR, and corporate governance, ideally within consulting or financial institutions
- Minimum of 6 months experience in an assistant managerial or supervisory role
- Strong understanding of financial services regulations and governance frameworks
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English (Arabic proficiency is an advantage)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to manage teams and deliver multiple engagements simultaneously
- Proactive, client-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
