The role ensures smooth day-to-day operations across multiple departments including animal care, facilities maintenance, guest services, and administrative functions while maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction, safety, regulatory compliance, and animal welfare. The position involves leading operational efficiency initiatives, developing and implementing procedures, and optimizing workflows across aquarium operations. A core responsibility includes managing life support systems (LSS), water quality, and aquatic ecosystem stability through advanced understanding of fluid dynamics, pump systems, marine chemistry, and biological filtration processes such as the nitrogen cycle. The role ensures optimal coral and marine life health through collaboration with veterinary and husbandry teams, overseeing treatment plans, and maintaining environmental parameters aligned with species requirements. The curator manages facility infrastructure, exhibit maintenance, renovations, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations while also leading emergency preparedness planning for risks such as system failures or environmental incidents. Additional responsibilities include budget management, vendor coordination, procurement oversight, inventory control, and cost optimization. The role also focuses on staff leadership, training, and development across departments, ensuring adherence to operational protocols, recordkeeping standards, and industry best practices. The Senior Manager acts as a key driver of continuous improvement in aquarium operations, guest experience enhancement, and sustainable marine conservation practices while ensuring readiness of pre-operational and operational phases of the facility.
