Job description
Offshore facilities go through detailed engineering, fabrication, construction, installation and commissioning before they produce anything, and environmental assurance has to hold at every one of those stages. This senior post brings environmental engineering expertise to both greenfield and brownfield offshore projects. Compliance sits at the centre, measured against applicable environmental regulations, project specifications and industry standards. Much of the technical work involves conducting and reviewing environmental and risk assessment studies, including EIA, ENVID, HAZID, HIRA and QRA. You also develop and review environmental management plans, procedures and compliance documentation. Thinking extends beyond construction to operations, decommissioning and abandonment, since impacts and risks carry across the full project lifecycle. Project teams and stakeholders look to you for technical guidance, so clear communication and presentation matter. At least 12 years of environmental engineering in Oil & Gas is expected, ideally on offshore greenfield and brownfield work, along with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
