Job description
The Manager of Governance, Risk and Compliance (Regulatory Advisory) at Grant Thornton UAE oversees the full spectrum of regulatory compliance advisory services, guiding high-profile clients and managing project portfolios. The role involves delivering regulatory/GRC advisory engagements, providing strategic advice on regulatory and compliance matters, leading the development of new service offerings and market expansion strategies, representing the firm at industry events and regulatory bodies, and planning and executing engagement delivery from planning to completion. The Manager contributes to business development through proposal development, client presentations, and training materials, while preparing detailed reports outlining project deliverables and professional recommendations. The position requires expertise in regulatory compliance, corporate governance, non-financial risk management, consumer protection, and Islamic Finance. Knowledge of UAE financial regulatory frameworks, including hands-on experience with the Central Bank of the UAE and the Capital Markets Authority, is essential. The Manager operates in a client-centric, high-pressure environment, engaging senior management and boards, interpreting legislation, regulatory guidance, and supervisory expectations, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and Microsoft Office skills. Use of AI-based tools and Arabic language skills are advantageous.

- Oversee the delivery of regulatory/GRC advisory engagements from planning to completion
- Provide high-level strategic advice to clients on regulatory and compliance matters
- Lead the development of new service offerings and market expansion strategies
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and regulatory bodies
- Plan engagement approaches and review team members’ work performance
- Contribute to business development, including proposal development, client presentations, and training materials
- Prepare detailed reports outlining project deliverables and professional recommendations
Experience & skills
- 7+ years of experience in financial institutions, regulatory bodies, or consulting firms
- Strong experience across GRC, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, consumer protection, and internal audit; Islamic Finance is a plus
- Demonstrated experience advising regulatory authorities and financial services clients, including banks, asset managers, and other regulated financial institutions
- In-depth knowledge of UAE financial regulatory frameworks with hands-on experience with the Central Bank of the UAE and Capital Markets Authority
- Experience supporting or leading regulatory compliance, corporate governance, non-financial risk management, and consumer protection initiatives
- Exposure to Market Conduct, Consumer Protection, and Islamic Finance regulatory and compliance frameworks is an advantage
- Holding a leading professional qualification such as ICA, CIA, or Company Secretariat degrees
- Proven ability to operate in a client-centric, high-pressure environment and deliver complex engagements against tight deadlines
- Exceptional stakeholder management and client relationship skills, with experience engaging senior management and boards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret legislation, regulatory guidance, and supervisory expectations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is advantageous
