Job description
Individual contributor role leading Uber’s Autonomous Mobility & Delivery (AM&D) AV Operations for KSA, based in Riyadh, responsible for end-to-end program planning, launch, deployment, daily monitoring, and growth of autonomous services with AV partners. Acts as primary day-to-day touchpoint for the AV tech provider and aligns internal functions (Ops, Fleets, Business Development, Tech, Marketing, Policy, Legal, Safety, Regional Ops) and external stakeholders (including regulators) to deliver pilots and scale toward commercial operations. Owns execution against strategy, develops and tracks metrics, surfaces insights from data (including SQL for internal candidates), pressure-tests assumptions, assesses program risks, drives experiments, and iterates playbooks for future expansions. Maintains big-picture focus on safety, privacy, equity, environmental considerations, and business fundamentals; builds positive relationships with cross-functional leaders; navigates KSA market dynamics and regulatory landscape; and operates with high autonomy and sound judgment in ambiguity while ensuring office-based collaboration at least half-time per company expectations.

- Lead AV launch, deployment, and ongoing operations in KSA with cross-functional partners to meet strategic goals
- Serve as primary day-to-day liaison with the AV technology provider and coordinate across Uber Ops, Fleets, BD, Tech, Marketing, Policy, Legal, and regional teams
- Collaborate with local policy and operations teams and external stakeholders to deploy and grow autonomous operations and partnerships
- Own program execution and ensure delivery against strategy at country and global scales
- Use data to surface insights, define and track metrics, and report performance
- Anticipate problems, design inventive solutions, and implement efficient mitigations
- Pressure-test assumptions, assess program risks, and implement risk controls
- Run experiments with internal teams and third parties to validate approaches and ensure alignment to goals
- Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and internal operations, informing evolving strategy
- Develop strong relationships with cross-functional leaders to drive long-term growth and market expansion
- Operate independently with high accountability, making sound judgments amid ambiguity and communicating rationale to leadership
Experience & skills
- 8+ years of experience in management consulting, operations management, investment banking, or fast-paced startup environments
- Strong understanding of the KSA market, including local business dynamics and regulatory landscape
- Proven stakeholder management with cross-functional partnering and external engagement
- Demonstrated ability in planning, defining metrics, building roadmaps, and designing scalable processes
- Continuous improvement mindset with adaptability and self-directed learning
- Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written)
- (Internal candidates) Prior Uber Marketplace & Operations experience for complex launches and ongoing operations
- (Internal candidates) SQL proficiency to build queries and generate insights beyond data extraction
- Preferred: AV knowledge; Uber Marketplace + Ops experience; SQL experience; commercially minded across regulatory, legal, and marketing interfaces; passion for equitable, innovative transportation solutions
