Job description
The IB Middle Years Programme shapes everything at Etqan Global Academy, a newly established IB World School in Doha, and this English position teaches its Language & Literature course. Lessons are concept-driven and inquiry-based, tied to global contexts and built to strengthen reading, writing, critical thinking and communication. Units of inquiry are yours to design, exploring language, literature and intercultural perspectives. Assessment follows MYP Language & Literature criteria, and students preparing for MYP eAssessment will need your guidance. ATL skills run through every unit, alongside a real love of reading. As a Form Tutor, you also contribute to pastoral care and wider school life. Being part of a new school means the English department and community are still taking shape, so collaboration counts. A recognised teaching qualification, a relevant degree and proven IB MYP experience are required, with MYP workshop training desirable.
