Job description
The Senior Geophysicist role is responsible for planning, supervising, coordinating, and controlling the acquisition, analysis, and evaluation of geophysical data to support well and reservoir studies and generate effective field development plans. The position provides advanced geophysical support for QatarEnergy oil fields and plays a key role in reservoir management activities within integrated, interdisciplinary asset teams. The role involves applying expert-level interpretation of seismic and VSP data, integrating stratigraphy, structural geology, and economic considerations to support development decisions. The Senior Geophysicist contributes to the full lifecycle of subsurface studies, from data acquisition and processing through interpretation and field development optimization, while ensuring technical quality and consistency of geophysical outputs. In addition, the role includes mentoring and developing less experienced geophysicists, reviewing and validating technical work, and contributing to collaborative reservoir studies to maximize asset value and long-term field performance.
