Job description
The Line Manager is responsible for leading, influencing, and motivating a pharmaceutical sales team to achieve agreed sales goals and market share while maintaining the company’s image in line with company policies and professional ethics. The role focuses on creating a productive workplace environment, shaping a team vision aligned with the company vision, and mobilizing the team toward achieving sales targets including sales volume, market share, sales growth, market expenses, free medical sample utilization, and human capital investment. The position carries accountability for the combined performance of the sales team, talent attraction, development, retention of Medical Information Officers (MIOs), and execution of customer-centric sales strategies. The role requires close collaboration with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), marketing teams, and supportive functions to ensure brand strategy alignment, effective sales execution, market intelligence collection, competitor monitoring, accurate reporting, and continuous development of team capabilities within the pharmaceutical market environment.

- Meet or exceed agreed sales targets within defined budgets, timelines, and resource allocations including sales volume, market share, sales growth, market expenses, free medical samples, and human capital investment
- Ensure combined team performance targets are achieved and each team member meets individual objectives
- Attract, develop, motivate, coach, and retain talented Medical Information Officers (MIOs)
- Supervise, motivate, monitor, and evaluate team performance through continuous coaching and feedback
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews and implement performance development plans for direct report MIOs
- Prepare and complete annual performance appraisal reports for direct report MIOs
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders and customers for mutual benefit
- Prepare monthly cycle plans including team visit plans, promotional messages, promotional tools, and customer-centric activities
- Ensure execution of well-planned sales calls covering assigned territories with agreed call numbers, coverage, and frequency
- Collaborate with marketing and supportive teams to develop and execute sales tactics, tools, and promotional materials aligned with core brand strategy
- Manage sales records systems including daily reports, customer profiles, and marketing feedback reports
- Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, and health service activities and provide regular feedback reports to management
- Attend company meetings as instructed by direct management and submit weekly and monthly reports in line with country reporting systems
- Prospect continuously for new business opportunities and drive line achievement through cross-functional collaboration
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a related science discipline
- Demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical field including at least 2 years of team management experience
- Demonstrate mandatory UAE pharmaceutical market experience
- Demonstrate fluency in English and Arabic languages
- Demonstrate strong account management and customer relationship management capabilities
- Demonstrate high business, commercial, strategic, and analytical acumen with strong understanding of customer and market insights
- Demonstrate leadership capabilities, ethical behavior, integrity, and adherence to corporate values
- Demonstrate expertise in coaching, training, monitoring, employee engagement, and onboarding within sales teams
