Job description
Doha British School's Ain Khaled campus delivers the National Curriculum of England alongside AS/A Levels, the IB Diploma and BTEC programmes, and this SENCo Lead position sits at the center of how the school supports pupils with additional needs. You determine the strategic development of SEN policy and provision across the school, then take responsibility for its day to day operation and the coordination of specific support for pupils with SEN or a disability. Professional guidance gets provided to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies. High expectations get established for both team members and students, with challenging targets set for each to work toward. Systems and procedures stay in place to support consistent progression for every student in the cohort. Approaches to learning and teaching that engage and motivate students, demanding their active participation, get actively promoted. Professional development and practical support strengthen teaching and learning across the team on an ongoing basis. Beyond the classroom, involvement in extracurricular activities forms part of the wider contribution expected to school life. Subject knowledge across IGCSE, AS/A Level and the International Baccalaureate underpins the teaching side of the role.
