Job description
Wood is hiring a Lead Energy Management Engineer for ADNOC Offshore Central Engineering Division in Abu Dhabi. The role involves establishing, implementing, and managing ADNOC Offshore Energy Management System (EnMS) as per ADNOC and ISO 50001 requirements. Responsibilities include conducting periodic meetings, trainings, energy performance reviews, audits, and reporting. The position ensures energy efficiency and optimization across operational assets and projects, and supports Engineering and Project teams in embedding energy-efficient designs. It also involves coordinating with ADNOC, external consultants, and suppliers, conducting internal and external audits, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with standards.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Roll out, coordinate and ensure proper implementation of the Energy Management organization throughout the company
- Establish and maintain the Company Energy Management System (EnMS) as per ADNOC and ISO50001 requirements
- Establish an energy data reporting system and coordinate with local energy teams to carry out periodic Energy Reviews
- Identify achievable energy performance improvement actions, set energy objectives and targets, and follow up on implementation
- Keep up-to-date on new technology developments and best practices for energy efficiency and emissions reduction
- Conduct periodic internal EnMS audits and assist in appointing external auditors
- Prepare scope of work for consultants, conduct bid evaluations, and manage external studies
- Support Engineering and Projects teams to embed energy efficiency requirements across project phases
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure suppliers deliver products and services compatible with energy requirements
- Report Company’s energy performance to ADNOC Energy team and participate in ADNOC energy management activities
- Provide training/guidance to UAE Nationals for development programs
- Plan, supervise and coordinate activities in the assigned area
- Provide input for Department budgets and monitor cost control
- Implement approved policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures
- Design and implement tools to improve quality and efficiency of operational processes
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and sustainability guidelines
Experience & skills
- Bachelor Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in oil & gas / process industry or Engineering Consultant
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Energy Management / energy optimization projects
- Excellent knowledge of international energy codes and standards
- Proficient in English (written and oral)
- Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office
- Membership of a recognized international environment forum/organization (advantage)
- Lead Auditor ISO 50001:2011 certification (advantage)
- Energy Management certification from reputed institution (advantage)
- Knowledge of offshore E&P processes
- Familiarity with ADNOC Code of Practice on Energy Management
- Knowledge of turbines, boilers, pumps, compressors, heaters, motors
- Knowledge of mathematical and statistical modelling, energy efficiency calculations, and financial modelling (NPV, IRR, CAPM)
- Knowledge of emission calculation methodologies (ISO 14064)
- Flexibility to travel frequently to offshore sites
