Job description
The Senior Manager ā Structured Trade Finance at Emirates NBD plays a strategic and technical leadership role within the Transaction Banking Product Unit, responsible for developing, implementing, and managing structured trade finance solutions across the bankās corporate and institutional banking portfolio. The role focuses on structuring complex trade transactions through mechanisms such as SPVs (Special Purpose Vehicles) and TradeCOs, managing both physical and electronic trade products, and creating innovative solutions that leverage documentary and open account trade frameworks. The incumbent will be accountable for the design and execution of structured trade finance strategies, including commodity hedge wraps and partnerships with third-party hedge administrators. This involves drafting legal agreements, coordinating with internal and external counsels, and managing middle-office and agency functions to monitor SPVs and transaction controls. The position requires overseeing product revenue performance, developing new trade finance products, maintaining updated product programs, and ensuring risk mitigation through adherence to international trade standards (UCP, URDG, ISP, ISBP, URR). The Senior Manager acts as a subject matter expert, working closely with Sales, Relationship Managers, Credit, and Legal teams to drive product commercialization, revenue growth, and compliance with regulatory and operational standards.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement structured trade finance strategies encompassing both physical and electronic trade products
- Establish and manage SPVs and TradeCO structures, including legal drafting and coordination with internal/external counsels
- Design and deliver trade finance solutions incorporating third-party commodity hedge wraps and ancillary margin products
- Prepare strategy papers and concept notes for management committees on structured trade opportunities and risk gaps
- Monitor and drive product performance across revenue, volume, and margins against budget and forecast
- Develop tactical and strategic business plans for structured trade product commercialization
- Collaborate with Senior Product Manager to research industry benchmarks and create business cases for new products and enhancements
- Oversee system and procedural development to support product operations and ongoing improvements
- Engage with Sales and Relationship Management teams to support client acquisition, cross-sell, and pricing negotiations
- Own credit standards and risk management frameworks for structured trade products
- Provide internal training on new products and enhancements to relevant stakeholders
- Develop product pricing, marketing agreements, and vendor partnerships to enhance product distribution and profitability
- Ensure compliance with ICC rules including UCP 600, URDG, ISP, ISBP, and URR while maintaining operational risk controls
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree, preferably with legal experience
- Minimum of 10 years in the banking industry with at least 8 years focused on trade finance and structured trade products
- Strong knowledge of trade finance operations, including documentary and open account trade structures
- Proficiency in ICC rules such as UCP 600, URDG, ISP, ISBP, and URR
- Proven ability to develop and execute trade product strategies aligned with business and regulatory objectives
- Experience in structuring transactions through SPVs and managing legal documentation and compliance processes
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and client engagement skills with the ability to drive revenue and profitability targets
- Effective collaboration with Sales, Relationship Management, Credit, Legal, and Middle Office teams
- Excellent understanding of trade risk management, product pricing, and portfolio performance tracking
