The Associate Director - Sovereign & Strategic Partnerships at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is responsible for positioning ADGM as the jurisdiction of choice by developing and promoting service offerings and value propositions that foster business growth and enhance ADGMâs ecosystem. This senior leadership role requires driving strategic engagement with sovereign wealth funds, government institutions, banking relationships, and high-value strategic partners to cement ADGMâs reputation as a global financial platform and a trusted partner. The incumbent will co-develop division strategy with leadership, implement strategic goals, and ensure alignment with Abu Dhabiâs economic diversification and Falcon Economy initiatives. Responsibilities include driving lead generation, cultivating high-level partnerships, overseeing market strategy execution, defining operational targets, managing development projects, and executing initiatives that enhance ADGMâs competitiveness among global financial centers. The role also entails monitoring competitive landscapes and sector trends, translating strategic objectives into operational plans, managing team performance, mentoring critical talent, ensuring compliance with information security policies, and strengthening internal and external networks to expand ADGMâs influence. This position is central to promoting sustainable economic growth, increasing investment inflows, facilitating client market entry and retention strategies, and ensuring long-term success for ADGM and its ecosystem across local, regional, and international markets.

Key responsibilities
- Lead, nurture, and elevate strategic partnerships with key AD institutions, including Sovereign Institutions, Government Relationships, Banking Relationships, and Strategic Partnerships
- Co-develop and drive the division strategy with Division Lead, ensuring alignment with long-term growth objectives and ADGMâs strategic direction
- Drive lead generation and anchor relationships to support Strategic Client Acquisition efforts across ADGM
- Support continuous development and refinement of SRM strategy, ensuring impactful solutions that drive organizational success
- Manage and cultivate high-level relationships with sovereigns and strategic partners for sustained engagement and ecosystem growth
- Build and strengthen internal relationships with key ADGM stakeholders to enhance cross-functional collaboration
- Institutionalize impactful programs with Sovereign & Strategic Partnerships, coordinating outreach, identifying high-potential clusters, and facilitating market entry and retention
- Drive Abu Dhabiâs growth and diversification agenda through ADGMâs ecosystem to attract investments and promote trade relations
- Monitor competitive landscapes and market trends, proposing initiatives to expand ADGMâs reach into new markets
- Lead execution of ADGMâs Markets Strategy and SSP initiatives, supporting both short-term and long-term objectives
- Oversee market strategies, go-to-market plans, and development of new products and services aligned with strategic priorities
- Manage network of channel partners and influencers, driving client account development, market awareness, and brand visibility
- Define, develop, and execute ADGMâs member and partner ecosystem strategy
- Collaborate with Market Development and Strategy Division to exchange market intelligence and inform target market strategies
- Translate strategic objectives into operational targets and track progress through performance management systems
- Drive continuous business process improvements and innovation
- Work with cluster leads to grow a pipeline of prospects and drive market penetration
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders to efficiently execute strategic plans
Experience & skills
- Proven experience in strategic partnership development, business development, or related senior roles
- Deep understanding of sovereign wealth funds, government institutions, and global financial center ecosystems
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to define, monitor, and execute strategic and operational plans
- Experience managing teams, mentoring high-potential talent, and driving performance
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of market trends, competitive landscapes, and economic diversification initiatives
- Familiarity with financial regulations, compliance, and information security best practices
