Job description
Masdar is seeking a Head of Talent Development to lead the strategic design, development, and execution of enterprise-wide talent initiatives that align workforce capabilities with business priorities across a global clean energy organization. Based at Masdar HQ in Abu Dhabi, the role is responsible for defining and delivering a global talent development strategy that strengthens leadership pipelines, accelerates career growth, and builds future-ready capabilities. The position oversees leadership development frameworks across all career levels, competency and capability frameworks embedded into performance management and talent reviews, learning and development strategies supported by digital learning ecosystems such as LMS, LXP, and AI-driven tools, and succession planning aligned with workforce readiness and future skill requirements. The role also includes responsibility for UAE national talent development through Emirati graduate programs, global and international mobility strategies, talent analytics and databases, employee engagement and recognition programs, and close collaboration with executives, government bodies, and educational institutions to support Masdarās long-term clean energy and sustainability objectives.

Key responsibilities
- Drive development and execution of annual operational business plans, KPIs, and performance reporting aligned with Masdarās strategic objectives
- Define and lead Masdarās global talent development strategy translating business needs into scalable development programs
- Identify, implement, and govern digital learning platforms including LMS, LXP, and AI-driven learning tools
- Design and implement leadership development frameworks for all career levels from emerging leaders to senior executives
- Partner with executives to assess leadership capability needs, deliver coaching solutions, and strengthen succession pipelines
- Develop career frameworks including career pathing, mentoring programs, and structured development plans
- Promote international assignments and global talent mobility strategies
- Oversee development and governance of technical and behavioral competency and capability frameworks across all divisions
- Embed competency frameworks into performance management, talent reviews, and learning programs
- Maintain a global talent database providing data-driven insights on skills, gaps, and development opportunities
- Drive learning and development strategies including continuous learning, microlearning, experiential programs, and ROI measurement
- Lead succession planning initiatives aligned with strategic workforce planning and future skill requirements
- Develop and implement UAE national talent initiatives including Emirati graduate programs and national talent pools
- Collaborate with educational institutions and government bodies to attract, develop, and retain Emirati talent
- Lead employee engagement, wellness, and recognition programs including Masdar Annual Awards and KAFU initiatives
- Manage, mentor, and develop the talent development team while contributing to budget planning and performance optimization
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorās degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or an equivalent discipline
- Preferably hold an MBA or relevant Masterās degree from a top-tier internationally recognized institution
- Possess 12ā15 years of experience in Talent Development with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing enterprise talent strategy
- Demonstrate proven experience building scalable leadership, competency, and career development frameworks
- Exhibit hands-on experience with digital learning ecosystems and talent platforms such as Workday, Cornerstone, and Degreed
- Show experience working in high-growth, innovation-driven or sustainability-focused industries, preferably global energy
- Demonstrate exposure to Middle East and GCC markets and strong capability influencing C-level stakeholders
