Job description
The Finance Executive – Internal Client Services role at Grant Thornton UAE is part of the internal finance function and focuses on revenue accounting and financial operations within a professional services environment. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate revenue records in line with applicable accounting standards such as IFRS and local GAAP, managing Work in Progress balances, ensuring timely billing, and resolving aged or unbilled revenue items. The position performs monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reconciliations, prepares and processes client invoices, and collaborates closely with audit and advisory teams to review client contracts and ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment. The role supports portfolio and backlog reviews with client service teams, prepares revenue schedules and audit documentation, analyzes revenue trends and variances to support management decision-making, and assists with budgeting and forecasting related to revenue streams. The position also monitors accounts receivable, supports internal and external audits, and ensures compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and firm policies while operating with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate revenue transaction records in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP
- Review and manage Work in Progress balances ensuring accurate recognition and timely billing
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare, review, and process client invoices to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Participate in portfolio and backlog reviews to identify unbilled revenue and follow up on recognition
- Collaborate with audit and advisory teams to review client contracts and apply appropriate revenue treatment
- Prepare revenue schedules and supporting documentation for audits
- Analyze revenue trends and variances and provide insights to management
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices with clients
- Support the development and monitoring of revenue recognition policies and procedures
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities related to revenue
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and firm policies
Experience & skills
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue accounting within audit, advisory, or professional services environments
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles and accounting standards
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Demonstrate proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Arabic language skills considered an advantage
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Maintain high levels of integrity and confidentiality
- Demonstrate willingness to work additional hours and travel when required
