Extended reach horizontal wells, HPHT gas wells and unconventional wells all come under the technical support of this Senior Drilling Engineer in Aramco's Unconventional Resources Drilling 3 Department. Drilling programmes are developed in line with Saudi Aramco standards, and operating divisions turn to you for advice on complex drilling problems. Studies on rate of penetration optimisation and new drilling technology are part of the remit. Sound engineering methods and procedures are set for assigned drilling issues, and each study has to fit the wider objectives of drilling operations. Clear presentations of findings to operations and management are expected. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably petroleum, mechanical or chemical, and at least 9 years of experience, enough to be clearly recognised as a senior drilling engineer, along with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
