Job description
Oliver Wyman is seeking Associates and Engagement Managers for its Sports and Entertainment consulting practice in Dubai and Riyadh, focusing on government and public sector clients. The role involves providing specialized strategy and operational expertise to sports and entertainment organizations, including clubs, leagues, federations, governing bodies, media owners, and investors. Candidates will break down complex problems, lead projects from hypothesis to solution, manage teams, and deliver practical, cohesive recommendations. The position requires experience in strategy, investment, operations, and public policy within the sports and entertainment sector, and an ability to create long-term commercial value and support performance and purpose in a rapidly evolving industry landscape.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Break down complex problems into discrete tasks and identify key aspects of client issues
- Plan and execute analysis, identifying core issues in complex analyses and crafting suitable recommendations
- Work side by side with clients and project teams to move projects forward and manage small teams
- Lead teams through problem-solving processes from hypothesis collection to solution convergence
- Ensure recommendations are practical, sensible, relevant, and cohesive
- Provide thought leadership at the strategic level and manage technical and operational details of execution
- Engage with clients, including presenting to senior executives, and build strong client relationships
Experience & skills
- Degree from a top academic program
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in strategy consulting or similar organizations
- Experience leading projects in governmental or public sector institutions, ideally in the GCC region
- Relevant experience in the Sports and Entertainment sector with government, SWFs, federations, leagues, and clubs across strategy, investment, operations, and public policy
- Track record of leading and managing teams and clients in fast-paced, demanding environments
- Strong strategic problem-solving and analytical skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, including presenting to senior executives
- Arabic language proficiency is a plus
- Willingness to travel
- Strong initiative, curiosity, and a can-do attitude
