Job description
Tax and compliance requirements only help a client once they become working technology, and this Manager in EY's Tax Technology & Transformation team in Dubai makes that happen. Engagements span Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax, accounting compliance and reporting, eInvoicing and AI-enabled use cases. Working side by side with client Tax, Finance and Technology teams, you turn requirements into functional specs, user stories, data mappings and acceptance criteria. SQL, Alteryx and Tableau are the daily tools for reconciliations, exception reports and dashboards that make tax outputs traceable. eInvoicing and data-driven VAT reporting frameworks need source-to-report validation and solid exception handling. SIT and UAT coordination, defect triage, cutover checklists and hypercare all fall within the delivery cycle. AI and GenAI work involves preparing datasets, validating outputs and documenting human oversight controls. Consultants and junior staff rely on you for task guidance and quality review, and travel across MENA comes with the role. Expect to bring 10 or more years in tax technology, tax transformation, data and analytics delivery or management consulting.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Gather business requirements through client workshops and translate them into functional specs, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria
- Develop data mappings, business rules and reporting logic with traceability from requirement to output
- Extract, transform and validate data with SQL, performing reconciliations and investigating variances
- Build Tableau dashboards and repeatable Alteryx workflows with clear documentation
- Support eInvoicing enablement through requirements, data readiness, integration documentation and testing
- Validate source-to-report logic and exception handling for data-driven VAT reporting frameworks
- Coordinate SIT and UAT, including test scenarios, scripts, test data, defect logging and evidence packs
- Prepare module-level cutover checklists, user readiness inputs and hypercare issue triage
- Document AI and GenAI requirements, prepare datasets and validate output quality against acceptance criteria
- Contribute to module-level solution design covering process flows, data mappings, interfaces and non-functional requirements
- Produce user guidance, training materials and handover documentation
- Maintain workstream plans, RAID inputs and weekly status reports
- Escalate blockers early and manage dependencies across client and internal teams
- Coach consultants and junior staff on SQL, Alteryx and Tableau and review their deliverables
- Protect client data through secure handling and engagement quality practices
- Travel across MENA for key workshops and delivery milestones
