Job description

The Senior Environmental Engineer at OQ8 supports the analysis and evaluation of Environmental Management Plan implementation under the TL Environmental scope. The role ensures compliance with environmental policies, regional and international best practices, and national and international laws. Responsibilities include implementing the Assurance Plan, evaluating Environmental Management Plans, managing biodiversity offset sites through contractor engagement, site visits, stakeholder coordination, baseline surveys, methodology design, Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) progress monitoring, and developing internal and external environmental awareness sessions. The position also involves participating in environmental assurance activities such as audits and inspections, conducting routine environmental data analysis, participating in environmental incident investigations, reviewing Environment Impact Assessments, and recommending process and workflow improvements. The role includes developing reports for management and lenders, ensuring adherence to HSSE standards, risk management methods, Omani and international regulations, IFC Performance Standards, and the Equator Principles. Work involves field operations and office-based activities, interacting with internal stakeholders across Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Technical Services, and external entities including regulators, consultants, lenders, universities, research bodies, and government agencies.
