Job description
Principal Consultants at Wipro are responsible for leading complex consulting engagements, providing strategic guidance, and delivering high-value business outcomes to clients. This role combines deep consulting expertise with business acumen to manage teams, ensure quality of deliverables, and support business development. The Principal Consultant contributes to the practice by developing reusable IP, fostering innovation, mentoring junior consultants, and elevating Wiproâs market presence through thought leadership and client success.

Key responsibilities
- Manage delivery of consulting solutions and oversee teams of consultants/work streams.
- Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables, maintaining high standards in project management.
- Engage with clients, build trust, and act as a strategic advisor, securing excellent feedback.
- Lead proposal development, contribute to RFP/RFI responses, and drive sales meetings.
- Identify and convert new opportunities and support pipeline development across accounts.
- Develop point-of-view and insight content to be shared with the practice and clients.
- Contribute to internal practice development, including proposal of new service offerings.
- Ensure administrative compliance including timely submission of timesheets, expenses, and evaluations.
- Leverage internal IP and assets to drive efficient consulting engagements and knowledge sharing.
- Coach and mentor junior consultants, manage attrition, and foster team collaboration.
- Deliver measurable consulting revenues and CSAT improvements through strategic advisory and transformation engagements.
- Support downstream opportunities and drive consulting growth in accounts.
Experience & skills
- Extensive consulting experience with deep domain knowledge in business or technology transformation.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and leading multi-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of sales cycles, client relationship building, and solution selling.
- Experience delivering strategic advisory and transformation engagements.
- Ability to create IP, thought leadership content, and reusable frameworks.
- Demonstrated excellence in stakeholder management and client communication.
- Track record of meeting consulting revenue targets and high utilization.
- Ability to coach teams and contribute to capability building.
- Strong writing and presentation skills to develop white papers and lead industry sessions.
- Willingness to contribute to cross-functional collaboration and Wipro-wide goals.
