Job description
Loan losses hit branch profitability directly, and this Vice President role in Credit Management at Mashreq exists to keep them low. Open to UAE Nationals only and based full time in the office, it covers credit assessment for branch lending across trade, contracting and industry clients. Each proposal starts with a thorough look at the borrower's creditworthiness and debt payment capacity before a facility is recommended. Branch Managers and Team Leaders work with you to structure credit lines that fit the client's business within acceptable risk. Portfolio quality is measured by classified outstandings, loan loss provisions and migration across risk grades, so early warning signals need catching quickly. Turnaround times and the share of proposals returned by Head Office are tracked as well. Credit culture in the branch also falls to you, through training, counselling and periodic review of credit policies and procedures. Expect to bring 10 to 15 years of lending experience, including 4 to 6 at managerial level, and an MBA is preferred.
