Job description
The Senior Electrical Field Engineer – Site (Habshan) is responsible for leading electrical design and field engineering activities for large-scale oil and gas EPC projects. The role supports both Greenfield and Brownfield developments, ensuring technical integrity, compliance with industry standards, and alignment with project objectives. Working closely with construction, maintenance, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, the engineer ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution at site. The position requires extensive field experience, strong coordination skills, and the ability to manage complex technical challenges within fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environments.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead electrical design and field engineering activities for large oil and gas EPC projects.
- Develop and establish design basis, technical specifications, engineering philosophies, and work scope documentation.
- Prepare and review tender documents and technical narratives.
- Review and verify electrical design calculations to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to international codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and system evaluations to maintain electrical system integrity and reliability.
- Coordinate with construction, maintenance, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
- Support site activities including troubleshooting, commissioning assistance, and construction supervision.
- Ensure effective inter-discipline coordination and engineering work planning.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure best engineering practices throughout project lifecycle.
Experience & skills
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in oil and gas EPC projects.
- Proven experience in both design and field engineering for Greenfield and Brownfield developments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and project economics.
- Familiarity with engineering work planning and control methodologies.
- Strong inter-discipline coordination capability within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to work under tight schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of multitasking effectively.
