Job description
VMCP at ADIB covers procurement for the whole bank, and this Abu Dhabi manager supports the head of department in running its operations day to day. The operating model, covering policy and procedures, procurement technology, governance and controls and talent, needs to work well and keep improving. Low value, low risk spend commodities are managed directly on behalf of ADIB departments, and spend catalogues get pushed so more purchasing runs through VMCP. Process lifecycles are reviewed for manual steps and control gaps, leading to a prioritised roadmap for automation and digitalisation. Reports to senior management cover savings, risks, BRCC, RCSA and ORM, supported by departmental KPIs and KRIs. Audit, ORM and ICD deal with you as their point of contact. Strategic and critical vendors need risk management strategies, and the vendor commercial directory is kept current to protect competition. Major negotiations are led when needed, and the annual savings pipeline and benefits realisation are tracked against target. Awareness campaigns and voice-of-the-customer feedback help embed VMCP policy across the bank. Twelve years in procurement is required, with CIPS (or progress toward it) and legal awareness such as an LLB or financial services experience.
