Job description
The Senior Associate β Government Relations & Corporate Communications at Teneo Qatar provides high-level strategic communications advisory to government and corporate clients, focusing on reputation, positioning, and stakeholder engagement. The role involves horizon scanning, geopolitical and business intelligence monitoring, media and social media monitoring, reporting, and providing advisory input. It supports integrated communications planning including research, ideation, messaging, content creation, copywriting, and reputational risk assessments. Responsibilities extend to account management, including mentoring Executives and Associates, supporting PMO activities, ownership of deliverables, client relationship building, identifying opportunities and risks, and supporting new business development with research and proposal building. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams and multidisciplinary experts across Strategy & Communications, Management Consulting, Financial Advisory, People Advisory, and Risks Advisory, to develop and deliver integrated solutions. Fluency in English is essential, with Arabic proficiency considered a significant advantage. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, digital and social communications, and familiarity with AI tools are required. The role offers exposure to high-profile projects and continuous learning and professional development through Teneo's structured induction and learning programs.

Key responsibilities
- Advise government and corporate clients on reputation, positioning, and strategic communications
- Perform horizon scanning and provide advisory insights based on regional geopolitical and business intelligence
- Monitor geopolitical issues, media, social media, and client communications activities, providing input for advisory notes
- Support communications planning and implementation including research, ideation, messaging, content creation, copywriting, and reputational risk assessment
- Develop integrated communications plans and client-ready documents such as presentations and reports
- Support account management including monitoring progress, flagging issues, mentoring Executives and Associates, and PMO support
- Build and maintain client relationships, proactively identifying opportunities, risks, and potential issues
- Support new business development by building client networks, conducting research, and developing insights to assist in proposal building
- Coach and mentor Executives and Associates and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts across Teneoβs business segments to deliver integrated client solutions
Experience & skills
- Possess a Bachelorβs degree or higher in communications, journalism, political science, public policy, law, international relations, business or related field
- Have 3+ years of experience in a strategy or communications role, public affairs, or related advisory role (agency or in-house)
- Demonstrate strong understanding of regional media, geopolitical, and corporate landscapes
- Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Possess strong analytical capability and ability to translate complex issues into clear narratives
- Have excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Demonstrate professional fluency in English
- Experience advising government or public sector clients
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and presentation skills
- Good knowledge of AI tools
- Understanding of digital and social communications
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is a significant advantage
