Job description
The Senior Relationship Manager, Trade & Working Capital manages an existing portfolio and solicits new Trade & Working Capital relationships within the Business Banking Division to meet pre-set financial and non-financial objectives. The role actively sources new-to-bank customers, generates new business leads from walk-in customers, and seamlessly takes over new relationships originated or referred by channels within the bank. Mandate includes improving share of wallet to position the bank as the primary bank across managed relationships; enhancing relationship revenue from borrowing and non-borrowing accounts by cross-selling the complete range of bank products; screening the market for NTB opportunities within defined segment and acceptable risk parameters; assuming complete ownership of the managed portfolio with hands-on relationship management to ensure effective and timely delivery of bank services and products. The role executes annual/periodic credit facility reviews, recommends appropriate credit facilities in line with the bankās credit policy to maximize earnings while containing risks, identifies candidates for downgrades/upgrades, and closely monitors assigned relationships for satisfactory account conduct and early rectification of credit-related issues. Control aspects include documentation, periodical client visits/call reports, stock inspections, and formal credit checks/informal market feedback to maintain acceptable portfolio quality. The position liaises between internal and external advisors to ensure precision of agreements, develops ARMs via on-the-job learning, works with superiors and enabler units (Risk Management and others) to achieve objectives, and adheres to compliance and regulatory policies regarding KYC/AML. Required capabilities include banking sales and service experience with proven relationship management, in-depth awareness of financial products and services, familiarity with digitization and technological advancements in operations, and minimum 5 years relevant local-market experience with preferred MBA/CA or equivalent. The role is full time and based in the United Arab Emirates (FTO).

- Improve share of wallet across managed relationships and target primary bank status for each client in the portfolio
- Enhance relationship revenue from borrowing and non-borrowing accounts by cross-selling the complete range of bank products
- Screen the market for new-to-bank opportunities and solicit new relationships within the defined segment and acceptable risk parameters to achieve assigned financial and non-financial objectives
- Assume complete ownership of the managed portfolio, provide superior customer service, and maintain close working relationships with clients through regular meetings to understand business, reduce risks, and maximize earnings
- Conduct annual and periodic credit facility reviews in the existing portfolio and recommend appropriate credit facilities in line with the bankās credit policy, identifying candidates for downgrades or upgrades
- Execute hands-on relationship management to ensure effective and timely delivery of bank services and products to clients
- Follow up and closely monitor assigned relationships to ensure satisfactory account conduct and early rectification of credit-related issues
- Implement and maintain control aspects including documentation, periodical client visits and call reports, stock inspections, and formal credit checks with informal market feedback to maintain acceptable portfolio quality
- Liaise between internal and external advisors to ensure precision and accuracy of agreements
- Develop the on-the-job learning curve of Assistant Relationship Managers (ARMs) to enable professional growth and readiness for higher responsibility
- Coordinate with superiors, direct reports, Risk Management, and related enabler units within the bank to achieve business objectives
- Adhere to all compliance and regulatory policies regarding KYC and AML as set out by the bank from time to time
- Actively source new-to-bank customers and generate new business leads from walk-in customers, including seamless takeover of new relationships from internal channels
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate banking sales and service experience with proven experience in relationship management
- Show in-depth awareness of various financial products and services offered by the bank and be abreast of digitization and technological advancements in operations
- Hold an MBA/CA or equivalent (preferred) with minimum relevant experience of at least 5 years in the local market
- Comply with KYC/AML and regulatory requirements as per bank policies and procedures
- Perform annual/periodic credit facility reviews and recommend facilities in line with the bankās credit policy while containing risks
- Execute documentation control, periodical client visits and call reports, stock inspections, and credit checks to maintain portfolio quality
- Manage portfolio ownership including monitoring account conduct and early rectification of credit issues
- Liaise effectively with internal and external advisors, Risk Management, and enabler units to achieve business objectives
