Job description
Keeping asset decisions consistent across an entire city's portfolio, from cost and risk to performance and service outcomes, is the problem this Director role exists to solve. You'll lead the development and implementation of city-wide asset lifecycle planning frameworks, policies, renewal strategies and intervention rules aligned with ISO 55001 standards. City Asset Management and City Operations meet through this role, which drives the integration of asset condition, criticality, service levels, maintenance requirements and operational feedback into lifecycle plans. SAP EAMS and AM systems teams partner closely here too, since trusted asset performance, risk, condition and renewal planning insight depends on that connection. Renewal pipelines get built and managed using condition, risk, criticality, performance, maintenance and cost data to prioritize where investment goes next. Intervention thresholds, maintenance policies and renewal criteria get defined across every asset portfolio, tailored to what each asset class actually needs. Lifecycle costing, total cost of ownership analysis and renewal forecasts feed directly into long-term capital and operational planning. Operational readiness depends on collaboration across City Operations, O&M teams, asset leads, governance teams and handover stakeholders, all working with this role to embed lifecycle requirements. A city-wide view of asset risk, performance, backlog and renewal priorities supports strategic planning and investment decisions at the highest level.
