The Tax - Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) Manager role in Kuwait operates within EY’s globally coordinated tax practice, delivering connected services across all tax disciplines to support clients in managing tax policies, tax laws, regulatory obligations, and compliance requirements in an era of rapid change. The GCR service line focuses on delivering efficient and effective tax resources, improving quality, managing risk, creating efficiency, and driving value through standard and efficient processes, highly effective tools, and an extensive network of local tax and accounting professionals. The role supports clients with direct and indirect tax compliance, statutory accounting, financial reporting, and tax accounting while coordinating service delivery across MENA teams and managing large-scale projects. The Manager combines strong technical skills with practical commercial, legislative, and industry knowledge to lead teams in providing corporate tax, tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax auditing services, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to Tax Quality guidelines. Responsibilities include day-to-day client engagement management, monitoring progress and deliverables, implementing standardized processes, identifying and escalating risks, driving performance-improvement solutions, managing engagement economics including staffing and fee tracking, and coordinating tax services across EY regional teams. The role also involves contract management, issue resolution, new business generation, building client networks, and supporting multinational clients in multi-cultural environments. A strong background in domestic and international tax rules and regulations, Kuwait Corporate tax and tax compliance experience, and exposure to BEPS P2 compliance are highly valued, alongside professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, or ADIT.

Key responsibilities
- Lead a team in delivering Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) services including corporate tax, tax compliance, tax accounting, tax auditing, statutory accounting, and financial reporting for clients across industries.
- Manage day-to-day client engagements by monitoring progress and deliverables, implementing standardized processes, identifying and escalating risks, and driving performance-improvement solutions.
- Coordinate and manage the delivery of tax services across EY regional teams within MENA, ensuring effective service delivery, issue resolution, and contract management of large-scale projects.
- Establish, maintain, and strengthen internal and external relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Oversee engagement economics by organizing staffing, tracking fees, communicating issues to project leaders, and ensuring financial discipline.
- Ensure adherence to Tax Quality guidelines and maintain compliance with domestic and international tax rules and regulations.
- Assist in generating new business opportunities and building client networks to grow the GCR client base in the region.
- Create, lead, and motivate high performing teams while fostering a positive learning culture through coaching and counseling junior team members.
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials in Accounting, Business, Finance, Taxation or related essential fields.
- Possess an MBA, Masters or advanced degree and/or professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrate over 5+ years of experience and very strong knowledge of domestic and international tax rules, regulations, and developments within a large professional services company or similar environment.
- Exhibit a very strong background in corporate tax, tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax auditing within a large professional services company or similar environment.
- Show a strong track record of managerial, organizational, and project management experience in tax engagements.
- Demonstrate experience dealing with multinational clients and working in a multi-cultural environment.
- Possess in-depth commercial, legislative, and industry knowledge relevant to tax advisory and compliance services.
- Have Kuwait Corporate tax and tax compliance experience, with BEPS P2 compliance experience considered an added advantage.
