Job description
Doha Bank's Dubai Branch runs on tight operational control, and this Head of Operations oversees every part of it, from branch and trade finance operations to technology, cash management, security and administration. Trade Finance covers Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Documentary Collections and related transactions. Compliance with CBUAE regulations, AML/CFT, KYC, FATCA and CRS is essential, and regulatory changes are translated into operational and procedural updates. Technology is part of the brief too, with IT service delivery, incident management, vendor management, cybersecurity controls and digital initiatives coordinated with Head Office. Daily controls include General Ledger and Nostro reconciliation, suspense account monitoring, internal account balancing and cash and vault management. Operational risk assessments and audit recommendations shape a strong internal control environment. Transformation work targets productivity, service quality and cost efficiency through process improvement and automation. Operations, Trade Finance, Administration, Customer Service and Technology teams report to you, with clear objectives and regular performance reviews. Expect to bring 15 to 20 years of banking experience, including 8 to 10 in senior leadership, strong knowledge of UAE banking regulations and CBUAE requirements, and a relevant Bachelor's degree, with a Master's preferred.

Key responsibilities
- Lead all branch operational activities for efficiency, accuracy, regulatory compliance and service excellence
- Monitor business, economic, regulatory and competitive developments and advise senior management
- Develop operational strategies aligned with the Bank's business objectives and growth plans
- Maintain operational policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and best practice
- Drive operational transformation, continuous process improvement and automation
- Direct Trade Finance operations across Letters of Credit, Guarantees and Documentary Collections
- Ensure full compliance with CBUAE regulations, AML/CFT, KYC, FATCA, CRS and other applicable requirements
- Implement operational, technology and procedural amendments in response to regulatory changes
- Oversee operational risk assessments and adherence to audit recommendations
- Manage branch technology operations, IT service delivery, incident management and vendors
- Coordinate technology upgrades and digital initiatives with Head Office Technology teams
- Enforce cybersecurity controls, information security policies and technology governance standards
- Supervise daily controls, including General Ledger and Nostro reconciliation, suspense account monitoring, internal account balancing and cash and vault management
- Review branch financial reports, operational MIS and exception reports
- Mentor Operations, Trade Finance, Administration, Customer Service and Technology teams
- Assess organisational structure and workforce capabilities and recommend enhancements
- Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Information Technology, Accounting or a related discipline
- Offer a Master's degree or MBA in Banking, Finance, Management, IT or a related field (preferred)
- Bring 15 to 20 years of banking experience across branch operations, trade finance, banking technology, operational risk, customer service and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrate 8 to 10 years in a senior management or leadership role
- Understand UAE banking regulations and CBUAE requirements in depth
- Show extensive experience managing Trade Finance products and operations
- Possess experience leading technology implementations, digital transformation and process automation
- Manage large operational teams within complex banking environments
