Job description
Parsons is delivering an express railway system in the UAE, and this position owns the planning, design review, coordination and delivery of its railway alignment. Horizontal and vertical alignment development sits at the centre of the work, along with geometric layouts, corridor strategies and corridor optimization. Every design has to balance safety, performance, constructability, operational efficiency and whole-life asset considerations. Interfaces run in many directions, so you will coordinate with civil, structures, geotechnical, drainage, track, systems, stations, depots, environmental and utility disciplines. Systems Engineering is part of the work too, covering requirements management, interface management, verification, validation and design traceability. On the delivery side, Design and Construct tender documentation and contractor submissions come to you for review, as do value engineering and constructability assessments. Tools such as OpenRail, Civil 3D and Bentley Rail Track are standard for the job. Applicants need at least 15 years in the AECO industry, with 10 of those in railway alignment design and delivery on major passenger or freight rail and transportation infrastructure projects.
