Job description
The Quality Assurance Officer role at Spinneysâ Food Manufacturing division ensures effective implementation of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and maintains high product and process quality in compliance with regulatory standards and customer expectations. The role involves monitoring production processes, critical control points, hygiene practices, and FSMS compliance, as well as investigating quality issues and customer complaints through root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions. The QA Officer conducts training and induction programs on food safety and hygiene, participates in internal and external audits, health and safety assessments, and mock recall exercises. Collaboration with production teams and QA Technologists is key for updating SOPs, flowcharts, and training materials, while maintaining accurate documentation including food safety reports, non-conformance records, cleaning schedules, and meeting minutes. The position also requires coordination with suppliers and third-party providers to resolve quality issues and support Hygiene team initiatives. The QA Officer contributes to continuous improvement efforts in product and process quality, providing weekly reporting and mentoring QC officers within a collaborative, hands-on environment.

- Participate in internal and external audits, health and safety risk assessments, and mock recall exercises
- Collaborate with production teams and QA Technologists to update SOPs, flowcharts, and training materials
- Maintain accurate documentation including food safety reports, non-conformance records, cleaning schedules, and meeting minutes
- Coordinate with suppliers and third-party service providers to address quality issues and ensure alignment with QA standards
- Provide support to the Hygiene team in the absence of the Hygiene Supervisor and assist in driving food safety awareness initiatives
- Submit weekly reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for product and process quality
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorâs degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field
- Demonstrate 2â4 years of experience in a quality assurance role within food manufacturing
- Apply strong understanding of HACCP principles, GMP, food safety regulations, and risk assessment methodologies
- Proven ability to train and guide operational teams on food safety and hygiene protocols
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-departmental coordination and stakeholder engagement
- Possess strong documentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, mentor QC officers, and lead quality initiatives on the factory floor
- Exhibit a collaborative, hands-on approach with keen attention to gaps and continuous improvement
