Job description
Masdar, the UAEās leading clean energy and green hydrogen company, is seeking an Accountant to join its Project Management Office under the Chief Operating Office division in Abu Dhabi. This role is focused on maintaining accurate financial records, managing project-related transactions, ensuring IFRS compliance, and supporting tax, treasury, and reporting functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring project finances, preparing accurate reports, and maintaining internal controls while supporting the company's mission of driving global sustainability and clean energy innovation.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly trial balances and ensure timely book closing
- Record and verify business transactions in the general ledger according to IFRS and company policy
- Perform accruals and provisions to ensure accurate reporting
- Prepare monthly aging reports for receivables and payables
- Reconcile bank accounts and all balance sheet items monthly
- Monitor and report on project-related costs, including detailed capex breakdowns
- Support cash management and monitor bank balances for liquidity accuracy
- Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and financial regulations and company procedures
- Assist in preparing project financial documentation and ensure reporting accuracy
- Maintain strong internal controls and support audit and governance processes
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- 4ā6 years of relevant experience in infrastructure, energy, or construction sectors
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIPA, CAP, DipIFR) is highly preferred
- Solid understanding of IFRS, corporate governance, and internal control frameworks
- Strong grasp of financial systems, cash flow management, and treasury operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational ability
- Proficiency in English is required
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-stakes, and diverse environment
