This involves comprehensive analysis of draft Air Services Agreements and aeropolitical documents, sourcing and distributing critical information related to regulatory policies and developments, representing Etihad at air services consultations and relevant regional and global aviation seminars and conferences, developing and maintaining aeropolitical contacts, providing clarification on aeropolitical issues to internal Etihad entities, and undertaking special projects or exercises as assigned by the Line Manager. The role directly impacts Etihad Airwaysâ strategic network expansion and regulatory compliance within the international aviation arena.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Ensure availability of traffic rights as and when required to support Etihadâs short and long-term operating plans, and support enhancement of the UAEâs pool of traffic rights through active coordination with national authorities, international authorities, and other concerned stakeholders to align traffic rights with operational requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive analysis and detailed briefs for lobby visits and consultations to support EAGâs case for traffic rights, ensuring that all analysis is aligned with EAGâs aeropolitical objectives and accurately reflects strategic operating plans and regulatory considerations.
- Analyse draft Air Services Agreements and other aeropolitical documents to protect and/or enhance the UAEâs and EAGâs interests, carefully reviewing provisions, identifying implications for traffic rights, and supporting positions that safeguard aeropolitical and regulatory advantages.
- Source critical information related to other countriesâ regulatory policies, developments, or events that may have a potential bearing on EYâs aeropolitical interests, and systematically distribute such information to relevant internal stakeholders to ensure awareness and informed decision-making.
- Represent EAG at air services consultations as required by the Line Manager, articulating and projecting EAGâs interests in discussions relating to traffic rights, Air Services Agreements, and other aeropolitical matters affecting operations and expansion.
- Participate in relevant regional and global aviation seminars and conferences to project and protect EAGâs interests, ensuring visibility in international aviation forums and maintaining awareness of global aeropolitical developments impacting traffic rights and regulatory matters.
- Develop and maintain aeropolitical contacts with national and international stakeholders in order to generate favourable influence towards EAGâs traffic rights requirements, strengthening relationships that support negotiations and consultations related to Air Services Agreements and regulatory policies.
- Provide clarification on aeropolitical issues and queries to all internal EAG entities and undertake special projects and aeropolitical exercises as assigned, ensuring consistent interpretation of aeropolitical documents, regulatory policies, and traffic rights matters across the organization.
