Job description
Responsible for identifying and structuring landowner partnerships and development opportunities across Dubai and the UAE, focusing on hospitality-suitable land and projects. The role is externally facing, centred on opportunity origination, early-stage commercial discussions, and collaboration with The First Group’s delivery and sales platform. The Head of Development Partnerships will engage landowners and property owners for joint ventures, land contribution, or long-term development models, while sourcing development opportunities that may benefit from repositioning, restructuring, or alternative approaches. This role requires representing the company’s brand, track record, and development history, leading initial commercial conversations, and collaborating with internal stakeholders including finance, legal, and senior management to assess feasibility and progress projects toward formal approval. The position emphasizes building and maintaining a pipeline of potential land and development opportunities to support strategic growth and partnership-led projects.

Key responsibilities
- Identify and engage landowners with hospitality-suitable plots for potential joint ventures, land contribution, or long-term development partnerships
- Source and assess development opportunities that may require repositioning, restructuring, or alternative development approaches
- Represent The First Group’s brand, track record, and development history in discussions with landowners and property owners
- Lead initial commercial conversations, including partnership frameworks, high-level commercial terms, and alignment of expectations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, legal, senior management) to assess feasibility and progress viable opportunities
- Move projects through early-stage evaluation toward formal approval processes
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential land and development opportunities for partnership-led projects
- Operate independently while representing the development platform externally in a commercially pragmatic and results-driven manner
Experience & skills
- 5–10+ years of experience in real estate development, land acquisition, property investment, or advisory
- Strong understanding of land valuation, development economics, and partnership-based deal structures
- Existing relationships with landowners, property owners, or real estate intermediaries are advantageous
- Experience in originating and structuring partnership-led development opportunities
- Ability to operate independently and represent an established development platform externally
- Commercially pragmatic with the ability to identify realistic and executable opportunities
- Proficiency in assessing feasibility and progressing opportunities through internal approval processes
- Experience in building and maintaining pipelines of potential land and development opportunities
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with finance, legal, and senior management teams to structure deals and progress projects
