Job description
As Director of Commercial for a key grocery segment (Fresh, Packaged Food, or Non-Food), you will be at the helm of defining and driving Careemās commercial strategy across multiple markets. You'll oversee assortment, pricing, promotions, supplier relationships, and own end-to-end P&L. You will lead a high-performing team, collaborate with regional leadership, and unlock the full potential of Careemās dark store grocery offering.

Key responsibilities
- Set and execute the end-to-end commercial strategy for your segment including assortment planning, pricing, category hierarchies, and promotions
- Partner with regional and local teams to refine assortments based on local trends and consumer insights
- Take full ownership of financial performance including revenue, margins, and budgeting
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships and lead high-value negotiations
- Use dashboards and analytics to monitor KPIs, identify growth opportunities, and optimize supplier performance
- Hire, lead, and develop a team of Category Managers and Pricing Analysts
- Collaborate with Product, Ops, Marketing, and Finance teams to drive aligned execution and seamless customer experience
Experience & skills
- 8ā10+ years in category management, commercial strategy, or procurement in grocery or consumer goods
- Experience in startups, e-commerce, or consulting is a strong plus
- Proven leadership of high-performing commercial teams
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Comfort with using data to drive business outcomes
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Customer-centric mindset with focus on experience
- Hands-on, impact-oriented approach in fast-paced environments
