Job description
FM Engineer role within a banking facilities management environment in Abu Dhabi, supporting Hard FM operations across ADIB portfolio including branches, head office, data rooms, and critical infrastructure. The role is responsible for ensuring operation, maintenance, and reliability of building services and infrastructure systems including MEP systems such as HVAC, electrical systems, UPS, generators, plumbing, lighting, lifts, and ELV systems. The engineer ensures preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities are executed effectively to maintain operational reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements including UAE regulations, Civil Défense standards, CBUAE expectations, and internal bank policies. The role supports critical facilities operations ensuring continuous availability of essential services such as power, cooling, and fire protection systems. It involves assisting in fault diagnosis, coordinating timely resolution of technical issues, and supporting emergency response and recovery during facility incidents. The FM Engineer coordinates FM vendors and contractors, verifies work quality, safety compliance, and SLA adherence, and contributes to vendor performance evaluation and service improvement initiatives. The role supports FM projects including branch fit-outs, refurbishments, relocations, engineering drawing reviews, commissioning, and asset handover processes. It requires maintaining FM documentation such as asset registers, maintenance logs, technical reports, and O&M manuals. The position contributes to compliance, health and safety governance, internal audits, and regulatory inspections while supporting Emirati development through structured training and knowledge building within FM engineering practices in a regulated banking environment.

Key responsibilities
- Support operation and maintenance of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical systems, UPS, generators, plumbing, lighting, lifts, and ELV systems across banking facilities
- Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure reliability, compliance, and minimal operational disruption
- Assist in diagnosing technical faults and coordinate timely resolution of building services engineering issues
- Support continuous availability of critical infrastructure systems including power, cooling, and fire protection systems
- Coordinate FM contractors and service providers ensuring SLA compliance, safety standards, and quality of work execution
- Support FM projects including new branch setups, refurbishments, relocations, commissioning, and technical handover processes
- Maintain FM documentation including asset registers, maintenance logs, technical reports, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings
- Support compliance with UAE regulations, Civil Défense requirements, CBUAE expectations, and internal banking FM policies
Experience & skills
- 3–4 years of experience in facilities management, engineering, or technical operations roles
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities, or Engineering discipline
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of building services engineering and MEP systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and engineering documentation
- Understanding of maintenance processes in commercial or corporate facility environments
- Knowledge of HSE standards and regulatory compliance in UAE environment including Civil Défense and banking requirements
- Willingness to participate in training, Emirati development programs, and continuous professional development in FM engineering
