Job description
The Senior Consultant – ERS (GRC: Legal & Regulatory Compliance) provides expert legal and regulatory advisory services to clients across UAE sectors. The role involves conducting compliance and maturity assessments, designing governance frameworks, interpreting UAE regulatory requirements, and providing actionable recommendations. The consultant also supervises junior team members and contributes to thought leadership and internal methodology development.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage regulatory compliance reviews, risk assessments, and gap analyses across client operations.
- Design and enhance legal and compliance frameworks, policies, and control environments aligned with UAE regulations and international best practices.
- Interpret UAE laws and regulatory requirements and provide clear guidance to clients.
- Develop regulatory obligation registers and compliance monitoring programs.
- Monitor emerging regulatory trends and assess implications for client operations.
- Lead workshops, interviews, and stakeholder discussions to evaluate governance and compliance frameworks.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members in regulatory engagements.
- Plan, execute, and report on compliance audits and assessments.
- Draft high-quality reports, executive summaries, and board materials with actionable recommendations.
- Identify regulatory risks and control gaps and develop remediation roadmaps.
Experience & skills
- LLB required; LLM or other postgraduate legal qualification preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience in legal advisory, regulatory compliance, risk advisory, or internal audit.
- Strong expertise in UAE laws, regulations, and supervisory expectations.
- Experience conducting compliance reviews, risk assessments, and maturity assessments.
- Excellent report-writing, drafting, and presentation skills in English.
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and facilitating regulatory discussions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines.
- Prior consulting or professional services experience is advantageous.
- Professional certifications (CFE, CCEP, ICA, CIA) are a plus.
- Arabic proficiency (spoken/written) is an advantage.
