Job description
The Central Screening Utility in Riyadh forms part of J.P. Morganās Global Services Operations (GSO), with a mandate to ensure compliance with both local and international sanctions regulations for Saudi legal entities. The Senior Operations Analyst role supports critical functions such as sanctions screening, client onboarding, regulatory processing, and user acceptance testing. The role demands strong interpersonal collaboration across compliance, technology, and business teams, and includes responsibilities in quality control, process optimization, and regulatory reporting. This high-volume, high-pressure position requires attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information in a tightly controlled environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Review transactions and clients in accordance with OFAC and local sanctions policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, including updates to the local Saudi list.
- Maintain performance and deliverables in alignment with global sanctions standards and service levels.
- Contribute additional work hours during high-volume or time-sensitive periods.
- Build partnerships with offshore stakeholders, Compliance, and Technology teams to maximize operational efficiency.
- Participate in improvement projects and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Represent the Central Screening Utility team in audits and regulatory reviews.
- Maintain strong operational controls and clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with the Business Resiliency Manager to maintain an effective Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
- Create and maintain reporting metrics for Senior Management using Excel and other tools.
- Process regulatory requests using systems like SAMANet, Tanfeeth, and Watheeq with accuracy and timeliness.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic (verbal and written).
- Experience in Swift settlements and banking operations from an international financial institution.
- Hands-on experience in sanctions screening and regulatory systems (OFAC, local Saudi list, SAMANet, Tanfeeth, Watheeq).
- Project management and UAT experience.
- Strong understanding of risk and control; experience dealing with auditors or regulators.
- Proactive, multi-tasking capabilities with strong problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure in high-volume environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
