Job description
The Director of Finance at The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa functions as the strategic financial leader for the property, aligning financial activities with brand service strategy and operational goals. The role involves developing property-wide financial strategies, implementing annual budgets, analyzing financial data and market trends, and ensuring efficient cost control and profitability. Responsibilities include leading finance teams, overseeing audit processes, developing business plans, and managing stakeholder communications, particularly with owners and financial institutions. The role emphasizes forecasting, compliance, risk management, and delivering timely financial reports. Strong treasury knowledge and regional experience in the Middle East, especially Doha, are preferred.

Key responsibilities
- Develop means to improve profit through cost estimation and business opportunities
- Forecast sales, create and monitor annual budget plans
- Analyze sales trends, labor costs, and financial data to support decision-making
- Implement accounting controls to safeguard assets and manage risks
- Lead financial strategy execution aligned with brand and property objectives
- Communicate financial concepts clearly to stakeholders and executive teams
- Monitor cash flow and working capital in line with brand standards
- Manage internal and external audit processes
- Build relationships with key stakeholders including owners and financial institutions
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Provide strategic advice on financial and operational issues to GM and executive committee
- Lead finance team, assign responsibilities, and conduct performance appraisals
- Ensure compliance with property policies, legal standards, and operating procedures
- Manage hiring, onboarding, and development of finance team members
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Finance and Accounting or related major with 3 yearsâ experience in finance
- OR Masterâs degree with at least 1 year of finance-related experience
- Strong regional experience in the Middle East, especially Doha
- Experience working with financial institutions and government agencies
- Treasury knowledge is an advantage
- Excellent leadership, communication, and financial analysis skills
- Strong understanding of budgeting, cash flow management, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in financial forecasting and performance analysis
- Experience in audit processes and financial reporting standards
