Job description
Around 600 pupils are taught by eight full-time staff in Doha College's Business and Economics Department, and this maternity cover position joins them from January 2027. Teaching spans both subjects at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. CIE Economics and CIE Business shape the Key Stage 4 programme, while Edexcel Business and Edexcel Economics International A-Levels run at Key Stage 5. Every classroom has interactive smartboards, each student uses an iPad, and Google Classroom connects the whole school. Beyond lessons, the department runs trips, the Investment Society, Enterprise Days and Financial Literacy Clubs for Key Stage 3. Contribution to co-curricular life, open days, performances and sports fixtures is expected. All lessons are taught in English, so a high standard of written and spoken English is essential. Safeguarding checks include references, a criminal records check and Barred List and Prohibition from Teaching checks. The role is non-sponsored and open only to candidates already residing in Qatar on family sponsorship.
