Job description
The Senior Procurement Engineer for Al-Futtaim Contracting (Al-Futtaim Engineering & Technologies) conducts subcontract procurement activities across multiple projects to ensure effective and timely project delivery. Responsibilities span processing subcontract enquiries to procure packages in a timely and cost-effective manner; preparing Subcontract ITTs in line with policy and procedures; and checking the prequalification of new subcontractors. The role manages vendor negotiations to secure best cost and lead time, conducts supplier performance evaluations to maintain service and product quality, and develops and maintains the supplier database with up-to-date data and offerings. The position ensures all relevant safety, quality, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls are followed to guarantee safety, service quality, and environmental compliance within AFC. The broader Al-Futtaim Engineering & Technologies context includes operations across the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, delivering products and services covering air conditioning, scaffolding and access solutions, elevators and escalators, control and life safety, facilities management, building products, MEP, energy management, technology infrastructure and digital transformation, complemented by project management, installation, testing, commissioning, and after-sales maintenance contracts. The Senior Procurement Engineer contributes by aligning procurement execution with these integrated engineering solutions while supporting timely subcontract awards, accurate documentation, and adherence to corporate procurement policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities
- Process subcontract enquiries and procure subcontract packages in a timely and cost-effective manner to support project delivery.
- Prepare Subcontract ITTs in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure compliant and competitive bidding.
- Verify and document prequalification of new subcontractors to meet project and corporate standards.
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimal pricing and lead times while maintaining quality requirements.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and maintain records to ensure continuous improvement in services and products.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date supplier database including capabilities, offerings, and contact information.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls across procurement operations.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align procurement schedules, technical requirements, and subcontract scopes.
- Prepare, compare, and recommend bids with clear cost, lead time, and compliance analysis.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reports to support audits and project controls.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with a Main Contractor in the UAE.
- Proven experience in material and subcontractor procurement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
- High attention to detail with strong documentation skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
