Job description
The Senior Technical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the technical execution of civil construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, drawings, and local regulations. The role involves coordinating with project teams, reviewing technical submissions, resolving design discrepancies, and supporting smooth project delivery from initiation through close-out. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee technical aspects of projects in accordance with specifications, contract documents, and local regulations
- Review contract drawings and raise RFIs for discrepancies, conflicts, or missing information
- Prepare and evaluate material submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation
- Track and follow up on approvals for technical submissions
- Develop technical and commercial comparison sheets for subcontractor and supplier proposals
- Ensure compliance with authority requirements including permits, NOCs, and BCC approvals
- Monitor and review project close-out procedures and documentation
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely and efficient execution
- Conduct site visits to resolve technical queries and provide clarifications
- Attend internal and external project meetings as required
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in civil construction projects
- Strong proficiency in engineering software such as STAAD, Revit, ETABS, and BIM tools
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and documents
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure
- Good communication and coordination skills with stakeholders
- Experience with technical documentation and compliance processes
