Job description
Appraisal, planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of the entire marine operation involving the Shiplift, Ship Transfer Carriage, and Dry Berths. Responsible for leading and managing the Dock Operations section, including Dockmasters, ship lift operators, planners, and dockworkers. Accountable for ship lifting and transferring operations, equipment condition, safety, and adherence to procedures. Includes accurate documentation of services, invoicing data preparation, and effective use of human, financial, and physical resources. The role involves taking over vessels, preparing docking plans based on vessel stability and naval engineering principles, chairing docking conferences, and ensuring safety throughout operations.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Dock Operations section including Dockmasters, ship lift operators, planners, and dockworkers
- Plan, execute, monitor, and report on marine operations involving the Shiplift, Ship Transfer Carriage, and Dry Berths
- Act in the capacity of Senior Manager - Operations during their absence
- Be responsible and accountable for ship lifting and transferring operations, equipment condition, and operational safety
- Ensure adherence to policies, processes, and procedures for docking operations
- Document all services provided accurately and ensure proper data submission for invoicing
- Ensure effective utilization of human, financial, and physical resources
- Take responsibility of the vessel from the Captain or Pilot once secured in the ship lift
- Perform and oversee vessel stability calculations and docking plans
- Chair and oversee docking conferences with vessel crew and consultants to align on docking parameters and safety arrangements
Experience & skills
- Extensive experience in docking operations, marine equipment handling, and vessel lifting procedures
- Expertise in vessel stability, naval architecture, and marine engineering
- Ability to prepare and execute docking plans and block settings
- Leadership in docking conferences and operational safety oversight
- Familiarity with invoicing processes and operational documentation for marine services
- Competence in managing human and material resources in a high-risk marine environment
