Job description
The Senior Manager – Technology Consulting – Data Protection serves as the Data Protection Tower Lead and is responsible for ensuring that enterprise-wide data classification, encryption, backup, recovery, retention, and data loss prevention policies are fully implemented and operationalized across the organization. The role operates within a technology consulting and cybersecurity context and aligns all data protection controls with Saudi regulatory requirements, including NDMO and PDPL, as well as organizational governance standards. The position oversees the deployment and operation of DLP and encryption solutions, manages backup and recovery strategies using platforms such as Veeam and Commvault, and enforces data classification and tagging schemas. The role monitors data exfiltration attempts, policy violations, and ensures compliance with data sovereignty and handling policies. The Senior Manager provides leadership in data security architecture and operations, ensuring regulatory adherence, risk reduction, and resilience across the data environment while contributing to EY’s broader mission of building trust and long-term value through technology-enabled risk management.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and operationalization of data loss prevention (DLP) and encryption solutions across the enterprise environment
- Oversee data backup, recovery, and retention strategies to ensure resilience, availability, and regulatory compliance
- Drive enterprise-wide data classification and tagging in accordance with defined data schemas and governance frameworks
- Ensure compliance with data sovereignty, data handling, and local Saudi regulatory requirements including NDMO and PDPL
- Monitor for data exfiltration attempts, policy violations, and security control gaps and ensure remediation actions are implemented
Experience & skills
- Possess a minimum of 8+ years of experience in data security or data protection roles
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, Symantec DLP, and backup technologies such as Veeam or Commvault
- Exhibit strong knowledge of Saudi data protection regulations including NDMO, PDPL, and local data protection laws
- Hold or be eligible for professional certifications such as CIPP, CISA, or equivalent data protection or audit credentials
