Job description
A consultancy delivering large-scale built environment projects across the UAE needs someone who can run its finance function end to end, and that is exactly what you would take on in this role. Monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements come out of this seat, and you prepare them against applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Reporting frameworks get built and maintained here too, feeding forecasting, business analysis and executive decision-making across the organisation. Profitability, utilisation and operating margins are tracked project by project, with cost analysis, variance reports and dashboards produced for senior management on a regular basis. Budgeting and long-term forecasting fall under this role as well, done in partnership with operational leaders so budgets reflect real project plans and resource needs. Project accounting runs deep, covering revenue recognition, work-in-progress tracking, progress billings, retention balances and contractual variations. Cash flow, liquidity, working capital and treasury sit alongside compliance with UAE VAT, corporate tax and labour regulations, all managed to keep the business on solid footing. Audits, internal controls and financial risk assessment round out the mandate, and a small team of two finance professionals reports directly into you.
