Job description
Microsoft Engineer role within edara at du HQ (Business Unit: edara; Job Category: ICT) in the United Arab Emirates with full responsibility for du Cloud Services and Infrastructure. Accountabilities include administering Windows and Microsoft systems including Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, Lync, SharePoint and monitoring; diagnosing system issues, predicting future trends, making recommendations and implementing client solutions; supporting management in forecasting demand, assessing capacity requirements and operating budget allocation requests; managing stakeholder expectations and resolving customer escalations with ability to interface clearly and concisely with Senior Management and customers; managing a team by implementing management practices, ensuring continuing development of junior members, engagement, and on-job training as required; conducting data and security auditing per business needs/requirements/approval; ensuring updated and efficient information records and analysis; implementing new procedures, processes and technology and adapting changes into the cloud environment; monitoring day-to-day activities and ensuring operations and network KPIs are met with highest quality and standards; and working effectively in a 24x7x365 environment. Qualifications include a bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and preferred international certifications including MCSE and CCNP, with MCSE or higher qualification stated. Experience requirements include minimum 9 years in telecom environment or IT infrastructure with strong cloud knowledge, experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools, antivirus/malware and patch management technologies, administering Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Lync, SharePoint, telecom technologies (Voice & Data, Advanced Connectivity, Security Services, Data Centre & Cloud, Mobility & Applications), very good experience in VMware, vCenter, network and/or storage, solid experience maintaining cloud environments, supporting/maintaining/troubleshooting systems and servers, maintaining and applying security policies and procedures, and minimum 2 years in a Managed Cloud Service environment. Tool knowledge required includes HP Service Management, Cisco ACI, UCS, Zenoss, VMware and UCS Director. Language proficiency required in English/Arabic.

- Take full responsibility for du Cloud Services and Infrastructure and maintain operational continuity and service delivery
- Administer Windows and related enterprise systems including Active Directory, Monitoring, Exchange, DNS, Lync and SharePoint
- Diagnose system issues, predict future trends, make recommendations and implement client solutions in the cloud environment
- Support management to capture forecasting demand and assess capacity requirements and operating budget allocation requests to deliver services
- Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve customer escalations and interface with Senior Management and customers clearly and concisely
- Manage and develop the team through good management practices, engagement, continuing development of junior members and on-job training when required

Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
- Have a minimum of 9 years of experience in a telecom environment or IT Infrastructure with strong cloud knowledge
- Have MCSE or higher qualification with MCSE / CCNP certification preferred as international certifications
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in a Managed Cloud Service environment
- Have experience administering Microsoft systems including Windows, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, Lync and SharePoint
- Have experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- Have experience with antivirus/malware and patch management technologies
- Have experience in telecom technologies including Voice & Data, Advanced Connectivity, Security Services, Data Centre & Cloud, Mobility & Applications
- Have very good experience in VMware, vCenter, and network and/or storage and solid experience maintaining cloud environments
- Have solid experience supporting, maintaining and troubleshooting systems and servers and maintaining and applying security policies and procedures
