Job description
Large credit risk datasets come in through SQL queries, ETL pipelines and SAS or Python code, and leave as Power BI dashboards and executive summaries for ADIB's Senior Management, Management Committees and Board. In between sits the analysis this Portfolio Analytics Manager is responsible for. Exposures are tracked by segment, sector, geography, counterparty, product, rating and staging, with close attention to concentrations, credit migration, IFRS 9 staging and ECL/provisions. When trends start to deteriorate, root-cause and driver analysis helps management act early. Credit risk regulatory reporting to the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) also runs through you, along with support on inspections and supervisory reviews. Data integrity underpins all of it, so data quality rules, reconciliations and reporting controls are a constant focus. There is real scope to automate and standardise recurring reports and to build better analytical tools. Expect to bring 8 to 10 years in banking, ideally in Credit Risk Management, Portfolio Risk, Risk Analytics or Regulatory Risk Reporting, along with experience writing concise Board-level risk commentary.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Monitor the bank's credit risk portfolio across segment, sector, geography, counterparty, product, rating and staging
- Assess portfolio quality and trends, including exposures, concentrations, credit migration, IFRS 9 staging and ECL/provisions
- Identify emerging risks and deteriorating trends, performing root-cause and driver analysis where required
- Support portfolio reviews, thematic analyses and ad hoc analysis requested by Senior Management, Risk Committees or the Board
- Prepare credit risk reports and presentations for Senior Management, Management Committees and the Board
- Coordinate the periodic credit risk portfolio reporting process across Risk and Business stakeholders
- Ensure consistent credit risk information, definitions and commentary across all reporting levels
- Translate complex portfolio information into concise, decision-useful insights for senior stakeholders
- Deliver accurate, reconciled and well-controlled credit risk regulatory reports to the CBUAE
- Assist with responses to CBUAE requests, inspections and supervisory reviews
- Track changes in credit risk regulatory reporting requirements and coordinate their implementation
- Maintain controls over credit risk data sourcing, validation and reporting
- Investigate material data discrepancies and drive their timely resolution
- Document procedures, data definitions and reporting controls
- Reconcile information across regulatory, financial, risk and management reporting
- Automate and simplify recurring portfolio monitoring and reporting processes
- Develop analytical tools, Power BI dashboards and management information to improve credit risk transparency
- Define data quality rules and reconciliation controls to keep data flows reliable
